Be patient! This homepage is under construction.... always!
This is an activity of the Commission on Thermal Physiology of the International
Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS), the organization that groups the
national physiological societies of all the countries in the world. Each
commission of the IUPS is charged with representing a specific subject
area within the broad field of physiology, e.g., cardiovascular, respiratory,
renal, etc. The principal responsibilities of the commissions are to survey
the entire field of its specialty and to foster all its activities (including
those outside of the purely medical sphere), world-wide. This includes
organizing and coordinating scientific meetings, providing encouragement
and support to those physiologists in the world whose resources may keep
them somewhat at the margins, and promoting graduate and postgraduate education
through the preparation and/or sponsorship of appropriate texts, reviews,
etc.

The purpose of this Information Browser is to further these aims as they
may pertain, specifically, to Thermal Physiology. It was developed at the
Department of Physiology & Biophysics of the University of Tennessee,
Memphis, College of Medicine, 894 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38163,
USA. Every user working or simply interested in the field is cordially
invited to contribute information relevant to any of the categories listed
below:
Please use our -- Interactive

Each page maintained by this Thermophysiology WWW Server has a
"URL-minder"
personal robot service which you may use. By entering your email address
in the space provided, anytime a change occurs on this page or any page
on this server where the "URL-minder" is provided, an email message will
be delivered to you informing you of the change. Registering on this page
alone WILL NOT! register you for any of the other linked pages. However,
if you register on this page whose date will change with changes to any
of the linked information, you will be informed that a change has occurred
on this server. It would be up to you to locate the change if you choose
to only register on this page. This will be at the bottom of each page.
We would like to thank Dr. Refinetti from William and Mary College, Williamsburg,
VA, for providing the primary body of information contained in this list.
Currently the name, institutional affilliation, geographic location, and
areas of research speciality are provided. Soon a fill-out form will be
provided so that the those on this list or those wishing to be included
on this listing will have an opportunity to submit corrections, additions,
e-mail addresses, and/or URLs to WWW pages. {Old version of the directory}
A new database style directory is being constructed and the above linked
file which now provides this information is being phased out. This new
information resource is a "true" database which can be queried in a normal
database fashion. "Normal database fashion" means that you can perform
a search on mulitple criteria, i.e., name, research interest, country,
etc., or you can look at a list of all those who are listed on this database.
To perform this task we are using Zyview 2.1 which is a www oriented database
system Use the two links below to tailor your search or review of this
directory.

The Thermophysiology discussion group is looking for network leaders to
organize subtopic discussions. If a subtopic discussion becomes large enough,
a separate discussion group will be created.

Schedule a "Thermo
WebChat" for real-time professional interaction. More about this later.
Welcome to the Thermophysiology place in Cyberspace. After you have
had some time to check us out, we would be pleased if you would come back
to this location and sign our Guest Book. Click on the book image below
